Draugurinn has been with me long before the first notes ever took shape and were recorded back in 2007-08. Like every project I immerse myself in, the music and its creation hold a specific purpose. Draugurinn fills a void that no other music or can, yet seamlessly blends into every other project and genre I’ve been involved with. Without a doubt, Draugurinn is my most personal creation. It is more than music – it is meant to be an experience, both visually (through live rites, paintings, photographs, and writings) and emotionally. Thus, the visual aspect is given as much focus as the sound. My inspiration is drawn primarily from life, as it is and has been, from nature, and from both what we see and what remains unseen.
